Salary: Up to $90K
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of routine litigation proceedings.
- Responsible for the preparation of affidavits of documents, refusals, motions.
- Drafting and enforcing orders, including garnishments, and perfecting appeals.
- Conduct preliminary due diligence investigations through to judgment and enforcement.
- Support Civil and Commercial litigation cases at all levels of court in Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada, including tribunals.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of law clerk experience in the area of litigation.
- Experience with complex litigation files is required.
- Successful completion of a related post-secondary Law Clerk program.
- eDiscovery experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and superior word processing, spelling, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Strong time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure to meet important deadlines.
- Ability to follow up on files and delays with minimal supervision.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
