Your Key Responsibilities

  • As an Intermediate Hydrogeologist, you would be involved in a variety of projects related to hydrogeologic assessments, with a specific focus on the mining industry. The core competencies for this position include:

  • Must be able to manage time, be organized, and set priorities
  • Maintain a disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions
  • Participate in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines in the execution of all work
  • Familiarity with local practices and markets as well as entry-level project management skills are considered an asset
  • A valid G driver’s license is required

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
  • Organize field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater and surface water sampling; water level monitoring; hydraulic conductivity testing; and infiltration testing
  • Develop conceptual site hydrogeologic understanding
  • Analyze and interpret data including pumping test results, aquifer response, surface water, and groundwater interaction
  • Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical results, and interpretation
  • Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules
  • Travel as required to various field sites with overnight travel sometimes required
  • Demonstrate sound understanding and application of established practices, standards, and guidelines
  • The majority of time spent in an office environment with prolonged sitting and computer work

Education and Experience

Post-secondary educational background, ideally M.Sc., specializing in a Geoscience or Engineering program with an emphasis on hydrogeology.

A minimum of 5 years of hydrogeological experience.

Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
