Your Role

We are seeking an Intermediate Human Factors Engineer for our Pickering, ON office.

Responsibilities

• Human Factors (HF) Specialists apply the knowledge of human capabilities and limitations to the design of systems and equipment.
• Human Factors Engineering ensures that the system and design are compatible with the sensory, perceptual, cognitive and physical attributes of the personnel who operate, maintain and support the system.
• HF Specialists work as part of multi‑discipline teams to analyze information and evaluate existing and proposed designs under the following frameworks: CNSC G-276, CNSC G-278, NUREG 0711 and CSA N290.12.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering or Science specializing in Human Factors Engineering or related discipline (e.g., systems engineering).
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario or eligible for registration shortly.
• 5+ years of related working experience in a design environment within the Canadian Nuclear Industry is considered an asset.
• Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
• Must be able to obtain Canadian Federal security clearance.
• Well‑developed technical writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
• Effective problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated experience of working in a collaborative team environment.
• Proven ability to be flexible, adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset.
• OPG or Bruce Power experience is considered an asset.

Compensation

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $95,000 to $135,000 per annum.
