Job summary

Simply Benefits Inc. in Kelowna, BC, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Underwriter to assess risk for group benefits, prepare proposals, and collaborate with sales, service and carrier partners to deliver competitive solutions.

You’ll balance detailed analysis with documented decisions, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and contribute to process improvements within a fast-paced TPA environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of underwriting experience in group benefits.
• Strong understanding of group benefits underwriting principles and contract language.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience creating proposals for external audiences is preferred.
• GBA designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new business opportunities to evaluate risk and determine appropriate underwriting approaches.
• Prepare and document proposals for new and renewal business.
• Prepare renewal packages for small to medium-sized groups.
• Collaborate with Sales, Service and carrier partners to deliver competitive pricing.
• Clearly document underwriting decisions, assumptions, alternates and deviations.
• Participate in workflow management and support the effective movement of underwriting work.
• Support underwriting leadership with carrier communications and process improvements.
