Job summary

FLINT is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Professional to lead fieldwork and coordinate subcontractors across Alberta and Saskatchewan. You will design work plans, support project managers, and prepare technical reports for ESAs and remediation projects while adhering to safety programs.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant consulting experience in upstream Oil and Gas, with a diploma or degree in environmental science/engineering and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental assessments, remediation and related fieldwork.
  • Experience leading fieldwork and producing technical reports (Phase 1/2 ESAs, remediation reports).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License; eligible for professional designation (e.g., PAg, P.Geo., P.Eng.).
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta and Saskatchewan environmental regulations and soil characterization/sampling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate fieldwork and remediation programs across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
  • Plan work programs and coordinate subcontractors to meet project timelines.
  • Prepare technical reports and ensure compliance with safety programs.
  • Support project managers in program execution and client communication.

Job Description

As an Intermediate Environmental Professional, you will collaborate with clients and staff to design work plans, coordinate subcontractors, lead fieldwork and support project managers with program execution. You will have 5+ years of relevant consulting experience, particularly in the upstream Oil and Gas sector across Alberta and Saskatchewan and a diploma or degree in environmental science or a related field. This role involves travel for field-based projects.

What would you be doing?

  • Proven experience leading,coordinating and executing assessment and remediation programs, including Phase 1 and 2 ESAs, and remediationacross Alberta andSaskatchewan.
  • Experience coordinating and executing reclamation programs across Alberta andSaskatchewan considered an asset (surface reclamation and DSAs).
  • Strong skills in cost tracking, scheduling and coordinating projects.
  • Technical reporting experience for Alberta and Saskatchewan, including Phase 1 and 2 ESAs, remediation reports and DSAs.
  • Ability to implement and adhere to corporate and client safety programs.
  • Effective organizational skills to ensure timely and successful completion of project requirements.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in environmental science/engineering or a related field, with a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Holds oreligibility to obtain professional designation in a relevant professional designation (ex. PAg, P.Geo., P.Eng. or equivalent) in one or both provinces.
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta and Saskatchewan contaminated environmental regulation and environmental regulations, with proven field skills in soil characterization, and sampling.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate across organizations.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in environmental assessments, remediation and remediation. Preference given to candidates with experience leading fieldwork and technical reporting..
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, proactive initiative, and a demonstrated capacity to build relationships and work effectively within diverse teams.
Additional Information

This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position and will require completion of drug and alcohol testing.
