Job summary

MPE a division of Englobe in Lethbridge seeks an Intermediate Electrical Engineer/Technologist to lead and support electrical designs for municipal water and wastewater projects. You will prepare detailed design documents, calculations, drawings and specifications, focusing on power systems up to 750V and coordinating with diverse teams.

You will conduct site assessments, assist with planning and client communications, and lead on-site commissioning to ensure compliance with design requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Municipal Water/Wastewater or industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems up to 750V.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and industry standards.
• Experience with drafting or modelling software.

• Position: INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/TECHNOLOGIST

Description

• Lead and support electrical engineering designs for Municipal Electrical team. Projects are primarily focused on: Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities, Pumping Stations, and Lift Stations.
• Prepare detailed design documents including calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Primarily design electrical power systems up to 750V.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in project meetings.
• Conduct site assessments and construction reviews to verify compliance with design requirements.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, cost estimates, and client communications.
• Lead and direct on-site commissioning.

Prerequisites

Additional Skills That Would Be Helpful

• Familiarity in the following categories is a requirement:
• Industrial power systems (MCCs, VFDs, ATS etc.)
• Standby generators and backup power
• Understanding of PLC and controls systems
• Strong understanding of relay logic and control wiring
• Experience with instrumentation equipment (Flow, Pressure, and Analytical Equipment etc.)
• Commissioning and testing of the power and controls systems
• Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code and applicable industry standards.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Municipal Water and Wastewater industry or industrial facilities.
• Certifications (1 of the following)
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or diploma in related discipline.
• Registered with APEGA or ASET.
• P.Eng or P.Tech.(Eng.) certification is required.
• Electrician or Instrumentation Certificate

• Experience with drafting or modelling software: AutoCAD, Revit, Plant3D, Solid Works etc.
• Experience with SKM and/or ETAP
