Job summary

Associated Engineering seeks an Intermediate or Senior Electrical Technologist to join the Lethbridge office, working on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure across southern Alberta. The role blends office design with site visits and construction support, collaborating with engineers, technologists, and commissioning specialists.

Ideal candidates have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology and ASET registration, with 5+ (mid) to 10+ (senior) years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology required.
• Registered or eligible for registration with ASET as a C.Tech or P.Tech.
• 5+ years of relevant experience for Intermediate level; 10+ years for Senior level.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical design drawings and construction packages using AutoCAD.
• Develop single-line diagrams, power distribution layouts, cable schedules, MCC layouts, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Assist with the design of MV/LV power distribution, MCCs, VFDs, standby power, instrumentation and SCADA.
• Perform field investigations and condition assessments of existing facilities.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, process, structural, and civil disciplines.
• Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
• Support construction administration, shop drawing reviews, commissioning, and plant startups.
• Conduct site inspections and assist with troubleshooting during construction and commissioning.
• Build and maintain relationships with municipal clients and contractors.
