Job summary

The CAA Club Group’s Echelon Insurance division in Canada is seeking an Intermediate Claims Adjuster, Physical Damage (NS). You will handle automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and RV physical damage claims of moderate complexity.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of casualty claims experience, holds a CIP or is pursuing designation, and possesses active provincial licensing. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience handling casualty claims or related experience.
  • CIP or working towards designation.
  • Active provincial licensing is required.
  • Completed post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to understand insurance contracts in various jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of claims settlement principles, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issues.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate personal/commercial lines claims of moderate to complex.
  • Manage challenging coverage claims with tact and professionalism.
  • Timely, accurate reserving in line with Corporate protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain control over expenses through pro-active handling techniques.
  • Obtain approval from Manager on claims above authority.
  • Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials and settlement conferences.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Unit Manager.

The Intermediate Claims Adjuster, Physical Damage is responsible for handling of automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and recreational vehicle physical damage claims. The claims are of moderate complexity. The successful candidate will have a dynamic personality and the ability to excel in a high performance environment. The Intermediate Claims Adjuster, Physical Damage ensures claims are properly investigated, evaluated, and resolved in a timely manner.

What You Will Do
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate personal/commercial lines claims of moderate to complex
  • Manage challenging coverage claims with tact and professionalism

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
