Job summary

MPE a division of Englobe in Lethbridge is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to contribute to water resources, municipal infrastructure, drainage, irrigation and dam-related projects across Alberta and Western Canada.

You will participate in planning, design, construction services, and client support, collaborating with a team of engineers, technologists and project managers. The role emphasizes mentorship, technical excellence and delivering projects on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Registration with APEGA as an Engineer (P.Eng.).
  • Approximately 3–7 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with municipal, water resources, or civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, analysis, and design of water resources and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Support project managers in delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections, construction reviews, and construction administration activities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
  • Assist with project management, budgeting, scheduling, and client relationship development.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Water Resources group.

Description:

This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of water resources, municipal infrastructure, drainage, irrigation, and dam-related projects across Alberta and Western Canada.

The successful candidate will contribute to project planning, design, construction services, and client support while working with a team of experienced engineers, technologists, and project managers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Registration with APEGA as an Engineer (P.Eng.).
  • Approximately 3–7 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience in the planning, design, and construction of municipal, water resources, or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with hydrology, hydraulic analysis, and hydrotechnical assessments.
  • Experience with the use of hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a multi-disciplinary team.
