They are currently recruiting an Intermediate Bridge Engineer to join their Structural Engineering for Bridge and Structures Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preliminary and detailed design of a variety of bridge and transportation structures, preparing reports and contract documents, engaging in proposals, and conducting structural assessments and inspections.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design of new bridges, underground transit stations, culverts, and retaining walls, as well as rehabilitation design of existing structures.
• Act as Project Engineer on structural projects.
• Attend project meetings and interface with clients.
• Coordinate and supervise technicians and designers to ensure accurate preparation and checking of contract drawings.
• Develop project specifications and cost estimates.
• Conduct field inspections of existing structures and compile inspection reports.
• Liaise with other departments and sub-consultants to coordinate technical aspects of the work.
• Maintain professional growth through seminars, workshops, and affiliations to stay updated on latest trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Progressive experience as a bridge design engineer or project engineer on bridge projects or underground subway/LRT station design.
• Design experience with steel, reinforced concrete, and pre-stressed concrete according to CAN/CSA standards.
• Strong analytical skills and creativity to develop concepts and evaluate options against criteria.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients.
• Established reputation with clients in Ontario, including municipalities in the GTA, TTC/Metrolinx, and the Ministry of Transportation.
• Engineer Degree from a North American university and Professional Engineer designation are mandatory; a Master’s Degree is preferable.
