Job summary

BDO Canada LLP in Vancouver seeks an Intermediate Accountant to join the Assurance & Accounting team, handling audit tasks and client engagements. You will prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for clients across industries, perform audits, and build strong client relationships.

You will communicate progress with the team, contribute to staff training, and develop expertise in the business, assurance, and regulatory requirements of listed and private entities.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation or in progress.
  • 1–2 years of audit experience in public accounting.
  • Experience with high growth private and publicly-listed enterprises is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Your Opportunity

Our Vancouver office is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join the Assurance & Accounting team and own the following responsibilities:

  • Effectively and efficiently handle audit tasks independently or within a team environment
  • Efficiently prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for your clients in a variety of industries
  • Perform audits on a variety of organizations, prepare working papers and financial statements per regulatory standards
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to request and suggestions
  • Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
  • Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team

Your experience and education

You have completed your CPA designation or are in the process of completion. You have 1-2 years of audit experience in the public accounting industry. You enjoy working with high growth and dynamic private and publicly-listed enterprises. You are keen to develop further knowledge about the business, assurance and regulatory requirements of publicly-listed entities and private businesses. You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work. You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $59,000 - $72,000/annum
