Job summary

JOEY Restaurant Group is hiring an Intermediate or Senior Accountant to strengthen financial reporting and internal controls for our Vancouver operations and corporate offices.

You will partner with restaurant leaders, manage balance sheet reconciliations, and support audits and tax filings in an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC. The team values accuracy, critical thinking, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Currently enrolled in the CPA Program or pursuing CPA completion.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical capability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and report weekly financial results, rankings, and period-end statements with accuracy.
• Reconcile central and unit bank accounts and intercompany adjustments.
• Maintain and reconcile gift card accounts and related transactions.
• Support year-end working papers and corporate tax filings.
• Contribute to external financial statement audits and government remittances.

Job description

As part of the Finance team at JOEY Restaurant Group, you will play a key role in supporting the financial health and performance of our restaurants and corporate operations. This roleis responsible formaintainingaccuratefinancial reporting, strengthening internal processes, and partnering with leaders across the business to ensure clarity, accountability, and operational excellence.

As an Intermediate or Senior Accountant,you'lltake on greater ownership of financial reporting and reconciliation processes while acting as a trusted resource for restaurant operators and supporting the Accounting Manager.You'llbe joining a collaborative, high-performing environment where attention to detail, critical thinking, and continuous improvement are valued-and where your work directly supports the growth of our teams and brands. This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC.

Annual Compensation Range

$55,000 - $75,000/ year
The salary range is dependent on skill and work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and report weekly financial results, rankings, and period-end financial statements with accuracy and timeliness
• Reconcile central and unit bank accounts, ensuring consistency across entities
• Maintain and reconcile gift card accounts and related transactions
• Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations,identifyingdiscrepancies and driving resolution
• Ensure the accuracy and completion of intercompany adjustments
• Partner with restaurant leaders to respond to financial and operational inquiries, providing clear,timely, and solutions-focused support
• Prepare andassistin the completion of year-end working papers and support corporate tax filings
• Contribute to the year-end external financial statement audit process
• Prepare andsubmitgovernment remittances, including GST, PST, HST, and Excise Tax
• Identifyopportunities to strengthen financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance operational efficiency
• Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to a collaborative Finance team environment

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance environment
• Currently enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Program or actively working toward completion
• Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel with strong analytical capability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Experience in hospitality or multi-unit operations is considered an asset
