Job summary

Connex Telecommunications Inc. in Richmond Hill, Ontario, is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle up to financial statements, including job costing, cash flow, payroll, budgeting and variance analysis.

The role requires strong Excel skills, multi‑department coordination, and the ability to work independently. You will prepare monthly and yearly financials, perform journal entries, assist with year‑end audits and provide timely ad‑hoc reporting.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in multi-department, multi-branch environment with separate cost centers in multiple provinces is required.
• Experience with Q360 software solutions is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Bank Reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements, supporting documents, and other related information.
• Prepare regular journal entries, including payroll entry posting, capital asset amortization, accruals and prepaids, etc.
• Prepare and file sales tax and support corporate tax filing.
• Perform financial analysis to investigate and explain variances.
• Work with operational leaders to provide insights into financial results.
• Assist with the analysis of annual and monthly budget vs actual.
• Participate in year-end audit providing auditors with required schedules and documents.
• Ad-Hoc reporting, as needed, for forecasting and projections.

Position: Intermediate Accountant

Job Summary

We are currently looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic team. As an intermediate accountant, you will be responsible for the full cycle accounting up to and including financial statements preparation. Other responsibilities include job costing, cash flow, payroll, budgeting, variance and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Bank Reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements, supporting documents, and other related information.
• Prepare regular journal entries, including payroll entry posting, capital asset amortization, accruals and prepaids, etc.

• Occasional overtime as required (i.e., month-end, year-end, special projects).

Requirements

• University degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• Completion or working towards a professional accounting designation.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in multi-department, multi-branch environment with separate cost centers in multiple provinces is required.
• Ability to work independently and with others in a team.
• Ability to interact comfortably with all levels within the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.
• Experience and familiarity with Q360 software solutions is an asset.
• Previous experience with inventory accounting is an asset.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, especially Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, “if” and “V/H Lookup” and other financial functions).
• Ability to act in a strong, professional manner always maintaining the highest of ethical standards with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
