Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, South America and Australia. We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our Saint John, NB or Blacks Harbour, NB office and contribute to accurate, timely financial reporting.

The role reports to the Divisional Controller and involves bank reconciliations, accounts payable posting, month-end journal entries, and working papers, with opportunities for special projects and professional growth.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in full cycle accounting.
• 2 years or more post-secondary education in Business/Finance.
• Finely tuned organizational and detail management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounting transactions including bank reconciliations and accounts payable posting.
• Prepare monthly working papers and month-end journal entries.
• Support all aspects of general accounting.
• Assist with special projects as requested by management.

The Role

As a result of our robust growth, we are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our team of accounting professionals. This role will be based in our Saint John, NB or Blacks Harbour, NB office. Reporting to the Divisional Controller, you will bring your experience in the preparation of accounting transactions including bank reconciliations and accounts payable posting, monthly working papers and month-end journal entries. You will provide support for all aspects of general accounting following the best principles and practices. Additionally, you will demonstrate the initiative required to work on special projects as requested by the Management.
