Job summary

True North Salmon Limited Partnership, a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., is hiring Fish Processing Plant Workers for its St. George, NB facility. You will set up and operate machines to clean, cut, process, and package fresh fish, trim whole fish, and inspect products to ensure quality.

Night shift Mon-Fri 6:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m. offers full-time year-round employment with health benefits, RRSP matching, wellness support, and career development.

  • Standing for long periods in a cold, wet environment; use of hand tools including knives and pliers.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, process, and package fresh fish products.
  • Cut, clean, and trim whole fish for further processing.
  • Scrape away scales, cut into fillets or portions, remove scrap parts.
  • Check fillets to determine size and place in weighing containers.
  • Inspect products to meet quality standards.
  • Ice, weigh, and palletize products for transfer.
  • Box or package fish for shipping.
  • Check packaging for defects and adjust machines as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

The Role

As a result of our robust growth we are seeking Fish Processing Plant Workers to join our team.

Primary duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, process, and package fresh fish products in accordance with operating procedures for safety and quality.
  • Cut, clean, and trim whole fish for further processing.
  • Scrape away scales, cut fish into fillets or portions, and remove scrap parts using a knife.
  • Check fish fillets to determine the optimal number and size of fillet sections; cut sections according to specifications and place them in containers for weighing.
  • Inspect products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ice, weigh, and palletize products for transfer.
  • Box or otherwise package fish for shipping.
  • Check products and packaging for defects, ensure conformance to company standards, and perform corrective machine adjustments as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

*This position requires standing for long periods of time in a cold, wet environment and using hand tools including knives and pliers.

Available Shifts/Hours are as follows:

  • Night Shift Monday to Friday: 6:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.
