Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking Healthcare Service Advisors to join our Healthcare Services team to ensure timely and equitable resolution of Accident Benefit claims. If you are a customer-focused individual looking to take the next step in your career, come join our team!

You will interpret insurance contracts, handle claims in accordance with guidelines, educate customers, acquisitions of reports, and participate in training.

Qualifications

• College diploma or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 2+ years of Accident Benefits insurance claims handling experience.
• Post-secondary education and licensing toward CIP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret insurance contracts and resolve policy coverages.
• Handle Accident Benefits claims within authority and guidelines.
• Acquire investigative reports and witness statements as required.
• Educate customers and providers on changes to auto reform.
• Ensure efficient claim processing within company guidelines.
• Assist in resolving claim issues related to legislation.
• Maintain service quality with approved specialists.
• Educate insureds about Premiere Healthcare network.
• Attend trainings and file clinic sessions.

We’re looking for Healthcare Service Advisors to join our Healthcare Services team to ensure timely and equitable resolution of sophisticated Accident Benefit claims.

What you’ll do

• Interpret insurance contracts, resolve policy coverages, establish and adjust reserves in accordance with corporate guidelines
• To appropriately handle Accident Benefits claims according to individual authority, knowledge and expertise
• Acquire investigative reports, independent medical examination where appropriate, statements from insured’s/witnesses and other specialists as required
• Educate customers and providers of any new auto reform changes
• Ensure all aspects of the claim process are handled optimally and within company guidelines
• Assist in resolving claims issues with respect to interpretations, as they relate to the legislation and settlement negotiations
• Ensure service levels and quality standards are met by approved specialists
• Educate our insureds about Premiere Healthcare network
• Attend and actively participate in training and file clinic sessions

What you’ll bring

• College Diploma/ Associate Degree or similar experience
• 2+ years of Accident Benefits insurance claims handling experience is required required
• Large Loss experience is preferred
• Post-secondary Education (College Diploma or Bachelor Degree) in related field.
• CIP or working towards CIP is required for licensing
• Excellent customer services skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to a fast paced environment
• Good organization skills
• Ability to adapt and work within various computer programs, databases and software

What you’ll get

• The salary band for this position ranges from $60,000 – $75,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity
