Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking a Healthcare Service Advisor as part of our Healthcare Services team to ensure timely and equitable resolution of Accident Benefit claims. You will work with insureds, providers, and specialists to manage claims in a customer-focused, regulatory-compliant manner.

The role requires 2+ years of Accident Benefits experience, strong communication, and a dedicated approach to learning in a fast-paced environment. A hybrid work model supports flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• College diploma/associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of Accident Benefits insurance claims handling experience.
• CIP or working toward CIP licensure is required.
• Post-secondary education in a related field.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Good organization skills.
• Ability to adapt and work within various computer programs, databases and software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret insurance contracts, resolve policy coverages, establish and adjust reserves per guidelines.
• Handle Accident Benefits claims within authorized knowledge and expertise.
• Acquire investigative reports, IMEs, statements from insureds/witnesses and other specialists as needed.
• Educate customers and providers about auto reform changes.
• Ensure all aspects of the claim process are handled per guidelines.
• Assist in resolving claim issues related to interpretations, legislation and settlements.
• Ensure service levels and quality standards by approved specialists.
• Educate insureds about Premiere Healthcare network.
• Attend and participate in training sessions and file clinic meetings.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for Healthcare Service Advisors to join our Healthcare Services team to ensure timely and equitable resolution of sophisticated Accident Benefit claims.

What You’ll Do

• Interpret insurance contracts, resolve policy coverages, establish and adjust reserves in accordance with corporate guidelines
• To appropriately handle Accident Benefits claims according to individual authority, knowledge and expertise
• Acquire investigative reports, independent medical examination where appropriate, statements from insured's/witnesses and other specialists as required
• Educate customers and providers of any new auto reform changes
• Ensure all aspects of the claim process are handled optimally and within company guidelines
• Assist in resolving claims issues with respect to interpretations, as they relate to the legislation and settlement negotiations
• Ensure service levels and quality standards are met by approved specialists
• Educate our insureds about Premiere Healthcare network
• Attend and actively participate in training and file clinic sessions

What You’ll Bring

• College Diploma/ Associate Degree or similar experience
• 2+ years of Accident Benefits insurance claims handling experience is required required
• Large Loss experience is preferred
• Post-secondary Education (College Diploma or Bachelor Degree) in related field.
• CIP or working towards CIP is required for licensing
• Excellent customer services skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to a fast paced environment
• Good organization skills
• Ability to adapt and work within various computer programs, databases and software

What You’ll Get

• The salary band for this position ranges from $60,000 – $75,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity
