Aviva Canada is seeking Healthcare Service Advisors to join their Healthcare Services team, ensuring timely and equitable resolution of sophisticated Accident Benefit claims.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of claims handling experience and a college diploma or related education, with CIP licensing in progress being a plus. The role offers a hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits within a Canadian setting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret insurance contracts and resolve policy coverages
• Handle Accident Benefits claims per authority and expertise

• Educate customers and providers on auto reform changes
• Ensure all aspects of the claim process meet guidelines
• Assist in resolving claims issues with respect to legislation and settlements
• Ensure service levels and quality standards with approved specialists
• Educate insureds about Premiere Healthcare network
• Attend and participate in training and file clinic sessions

The Opportunity

We’re looking for Healthcare Service Advisors to join our Healthcare Services team to ensure timely and equitable resolution of sophisticated Accident Benefit claims.

What You’ll Do

• Interpret insurance contracts, resolve policy coverages, establish and adjust reserves in accordance with corporate guidelines
• To appropriately handle Accident Benefits claims according to individual authority, knowledge and expertise
• Acquire investigative reports, independent medical examination where appropriate, statements from insured's/witnesses and other specialists as required
• Educate customers and providers of any new auto reform changes
• Ensure all aspects of the claim process are handled optimally and within company guidelines
• Assist in resolving claims issues with respect to interpretations, as they relate to the legislation and settlement negotiations
• Ensure service levels and quality standards are met by approved specialists
• Educate our insureds about Premiere Healthcare network
• Attend and actively participate in training and file clinic sessions

What You’ll Bring

• College Diploma/ Associate Degree or similar experience
• 2+ years of Accident Benefits insurance claims handling experience is required required
• Large Loss experience is preferred
• Post-secondary Education (College Diploma or Bachelor Degree) in related field.
• CIP or working towards CIP is required for licensing
• Excellent customer services skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to a fast paced environment
• Good organization skills
• Ability to adapt and work within various computer programs, databases and software

• The salary band for this position ranges from $60,000 – $75,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity
