Job summary

VACANCY STATUS: FULL TIME

POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to provide the Hospital with a integration manager that will lead all
Information, Communication, and Automation Technology (ICAT) integration activities for the new
Fancsy Family Hospital (FFH) campus. This Integration Manager will ensure healthcare IT systems
are integrated with broader operational goals across all redevelopment construction projects and into
the existing operational environment for MET and QUE.

Working with the Redevelopment team, other WRH staff and external consultants, this position will
serve a pivotal role coordinating a wide range of activities relating to the interactions of Operations
technology (OT), Information Technology (IT) and Security Technology (ST) for the Redevelopment
Projects. Reporting to the Director, ICAT the Integration Manager will act as one of the hospital's
representatives in discussions with a multi-disciplinary team of hospital professionals, department
stakeholders, architects and consultants in the planning and development of ICAT requirements.

To thrive as an ICAT Integration Manager, you need strong project management expertise,
knowledge of Information Communications and Automation Technology (ICAT) systems, Master
Systems Integrator experience and a relevant technology degree and/or certifications like PMP or
RCDD. Familiarity with project management software (such as MS Project or Primavera), automation
platforms, and control systems is required. Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership
skills help manage cross-functional teams and complex technical projects. These skills ensure
efficient project delivery, stakeholder satisfaction, and the successful integration of automation
technologies.

The Integration Manager may also be called on to provide advice and guidance on issues related to
ICAT redevelopment of projects at the Ouellette and Met Campuses.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the physical infrastructure and building systems are design, built and commissioned in compliance with project documents in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
  • Working collaboratively with the Redevelopment team, Senior Team, Users and Consultants to issue submittals and support the approvals sought from regulatory bodies such as Ministry of Health, Infrastructure Ontario, Ontario Health, Municipalities, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality and release of information in accordance with hospital policy at all times. Ensures all decisions and actions taken are in strict accordance with current legislation and regulations, the Broader Public Sector Guidelines, Collective Agreements and Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Work with our team to oversee the implementation of appropriate design management and construction project management methodology(ies) and risk management strategies.
  • Implement the process and tools necessary to successfully monitor and control construction projects (budget, scope and cost).
  • Implement the process and tools necessary to successfully clear construction deficiencies and building commissioning activities.
  • Monitors all contractual commitments to ensure that all work is being performed in compliance with consultant contracts, the Project Agreement or contract, output specifications, and schedule.
  • Oversees and organizes the work of consultants to capital projects.
  • Participates in construction site meetings.
  • Prepare project schedules and budgets for review and approval. Monitors project schedule, and recommends approval of progress payments, Contemplated Change Orders, and Change Orders.
  • Analyze and report monthly on the project’s progress, including project costs and projections
  • Tracks all ongoing contract interpretation disputes, and participates at post-contract meetings to address and negotiate dispute issues.
  • All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct all duties and responsibilities in a manner that is consistent
  • Self-directed with demonstrated success and experience in managing and prioritizing
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication and presentation skills, clear
  • Excellent consultation, facilitation, negotiation, problem solving, consensus building/team
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • University degree or College diploma in engineering, biomedical engineering, health
    information systems, information management, information technology, architecture, or a
    health care related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be
    considered.
  • P. Eng., RCDD, PSP, CTS, CTS-D, MCSE, CCIE, PMP Certifications are assets.
  • Five or more years in the telecommunications, security, audiovisual or electrical field.
    (ICT/IMIT)
  • Demonstrated experience working with at least one major healthcare redevelopment project.
  • Desirable to have Master Systems Integrator experience within a P3 project.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, and Teams environment.
  • Knowledge of CAD/Revit, BlueBeam, dRofus and FieldWire are assets.
  • Knowledge of facility design, construction processes, and familiarity with health care delivery
  • Knowledgeable about industry standards including BISCI, EIA/TIA and CSA standards are assets.

  • Responding to safety risks to clients and takes action in situations where client safety and well-being are compromised.
  • Reporting any observed risks to the appropriate authority whose actions or behaviours towards clients are unsafe or unprofessional
