Job summary

Synectics Inc. is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Naval Architect Technologist to support ship structures in Ottawa, ON and/or St. John’s, NL.

You will develop 3D models in ShipConstructor and interpret related drawings for both new construction and refits. Requirements include a Bachelor's or Associate degree and at least 4 years in the marine industry (8 years for Senior). Proficiency with ShipConstructor is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or associate degree; OR the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work experience.
• Minimum 4 years of marine industry experience, (min. 8 years for Sr.) with demonstrated expertise in structural modeling and drafting
• Proficiency in ShipConstructor is required

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D product models for ship structures in ShipConstructor for both new construction and refit projects.
• Interpret technical, Detail Design, and construction drawings related to ship structures design.
• Prepare specifications, sketches, requirements, and technical drawings.
• Review production outputs to confirm accuracy of the 3D model and associated deliverables and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Support technical discussions for project reviews.
• Mentor and assist in the development of less experienced team members.
• Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on qualifications of applicant.
