Job summary

Definity is seeking a claims professional to promptly resolve notices of claim in collaboration with customers and preferred vendors. The role includes confirming coverage, maintaining records, and processing payments within authority.

Ideal candidates have a university degree or college diploma, familiarity with CICS and CDS, and strong MS Word/Excel skills. Bilingual English/French is an asset; hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

  • Requires university degree or college diploma; CIP designation asset.
  • Licenses in NB, PEI and NL asset.
  • Experience in auto or property claims preferred; knowledge of property is an asset.
  • Familiarity with CICS and CDS system; proficient in Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Accept notice of claim and work with customers and Vendors to resolve promptly.
  • Confirm policy coverage ensuring claim facts fall within policy scope.
  • Maintain detailed file records in systems.
  • Process claims payments within authority after entitlement verified.
  • Initiate salvage and subrogation on assigned files.
  • Assist in managing the property queues.
  • Hours 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST.

  • Accepting notice of claim and working with the customer and preferred Vendors to resolve the claim quickly and efficiently
  • Confirming policy coverage by ensuring the facts of the claim fall within the scope of the policy
  • Maintaining detailed file records by entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems
  • Processing claims payments within level of authority after verifying claimant's entitlement
  • Initiating salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned files

  • You are available to work within the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST

What you bring to the role?
  • A university degree, 2-year college diploma or CIP designation would be an asset
  • Licensed in New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland would be an asset
  • Experience in auto or property claims (knowledge of property is an asset)
  • Familiarity with CICS and CDS system
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Actively pursuing CIP designation
  • Bilingual capabilities (French and English) would be an asset
  • Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
  • Able to perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Team player adaptable to a changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary range is $50,200 - $92,500
