Job summary

Definity is building a dynamic Corporate Development team in Canada, driving inorganic growth through acquisitions across carriers, brokers and new markets. This role offers end-to-end deal exposure, including sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and integration support.

You will evaluate targets, build valuation models, monitor industry trends, and present insights to senior leadership. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in finance or related fields, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Progress toward or completion of CPA, CFA, or CBV designation.
  • 1–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related fields; corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategy preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in financial services (insurance is an asset).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels, including senior executives.
  • Experience with S&P Capital IQ and/or MSA is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate potential acquisition targets and strategic initiatives for fit, risk, and value creation.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models, including valuation, synergy analysis, and accretion/dilution.
  • Support execution of acquisitions, financings, and divestitures across structuring, diligence, documentation, and integration.
  • Monitor Canadian P&C industry trends; develop and maintain benchmarking databases and presentations.
  • Perform credit analysis and covenant monitoring for broker investments.
  • Support broader corporate initiatives and strategic projects as required.

WhattoExpect
  • Work at the center of strategic growth:Partner with a highly acquisitive Corporate Development team and collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Investor Relations, Capital Management, and Legal
  • Drive real impact:Support Definity’s inorganic growth strategy across carriers, brokers, and new vertical markets
  • End-to-end deal exposure:Contribute across the transaction lifecycle, including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, investment materials, and integration support

What youBring

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

High degree ofproficiencywith Englishrequiredto service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.
