Defi nity is seeking an Analyst Financial, Performance Measurement in Waterloo, Ontario. The role supports P&L reporting and forward-looking analysis for Personal and Commercial Insurance, working closely with finance and business partners to enable informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate has a university degree in a related field, 1+ year FP&A experience, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, with AI-enabled tools experience a plus. The position offers flexible hybrid work within Canada.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Math/Statistics, or a related field.
• Working towards CPA designation preferred.
• 1+ year of FP&A/financial analysis or performance measurement experience.
• P&C insurance knowledge or experience considered an asset.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM/Hyperion is an asset.
• Experience or interest in applying AI-enabled tools in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reporting for Personal and Commercial Insurance.
• Produce executive and board-level reporting with explanations of results, trends, and variances.
• Partner with actuarial, underwriting, etc., to analyze results vs. plan and prior year.
• Support month-end close process including journal entries and allocations.
• Contribute to planning and forecasting for the National Broker Platform.

TheOpportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Performance Measurement, the Financial Analyst will play a key role in delivering P&L reporting, analysis, and insights for Definity's Personal and Commercial Insurance businesses. The role works closely with senior finance and business partners to prepare line - of - business P&L reporting, executive and board - level materials, and forward - looking analysis, supporting decision - making in a fast - paced public company environment.

The primary focus is on supporting the insurance business (Personal and Commercial Lines), with additional opportunities to support financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for the growing National Broker Platform.

WhattoExpect

Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reporting for Personal and Commercial Insurance, including analysis of key performance drivers

Produce executive and board - level reporting, providing clear explanations of results, trends, and variances

Partner with actuarial, underwriting, claims, and business teams to analyze actual results versus plan and prior year and support business decision - making

Support the month - end close process, including journal entries, expense allocations, and review of financial results

Contribute to planning and forecasting activities for the National Broker Platform, including performance tracking and variance analysis

Leverage AI - enabled tools and emerging technologies (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini) to enhance reporting quality, efficiency, and insight

Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline financial reporting and analysis processes

Prepare ad - hoc analysis and decision support in response to evolving business priorities

What youBring

University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Math/Statistics, or a related field

Working towards CPA designation preferred

1+ year of relevant experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or performance measurement

P&C insurance knowledge or experience considered an asset

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analytical and problem - solving skills

Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM / Hyperion applications considered an asset

Experience or demonstrated interest in applying AI - enabled tools within a financial reporting and analysis environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to senior management

Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision

A proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to identify and execute improvements

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment to manage multiple priorities and meet firm deadlines

High degree ofproficiencywith Englishrequiredto service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.
