In your role as an insurance defence law clerk, you will be pivotal across a spectrum of cases, including Accident Benefits, Tort, Property, Anti-fraud investigations, defence and prosecutions, and Appellate work. Your contributions are key to our success.

• Intake, organization, and briefing of files
• Preparing medical indices and summaries
• Coordinating with investigators and experts
• Drafting pleadings, discovery plans, and affidavits of documents
• Pursuing and managing productions and undertakings
• Assisting with motion materials
• Preparing costs outlines
• Assisting with arbitration and trial preparation
• Direct communication with counsel and clients
• Daily file management

Preferred Experience and Qualifications include :

• 4+ years of experience as a Law Clerk handling Accident Benefits and tort insurance defence files
• Law Clerk Certification or undergraduate degree
• Proficiency with the Rules of Civil Procedure and LAT Rules of Practice
• Ability to manage large volumes of documents in a fast-paced, paperless environment
• Strong tech skills (Primafact, Ghost Practice, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with time-consciousness and deadlines
• Proactive attitude and team-oriented mindset
