In your role as an insurance defence law clerk, you will be pivotal across a spectrum of cases, including Accident Benefits, Tort, Property, Anti-fraud investigations, defence and prosecutions, and Appellate work. Your contributions are key to our success.

1. Intake, organization, and briefing of files
2. Preparing medical indices and summaries
3. Coordinating with investigators and experts
4. Drafting pleadings, discovery plans, and affidavits of documents
5. Pursuing and managing productions and undertakings
6. Assisting with motion materials
7. Preparing costs outlines
8. Drafting settlement documents
9. Assisting with arbitration and trial preparation
10. Direct communication with counsel and clients
11. Daily file management

Preferred Experience and Qualifications include:

1. 4+ years of experience as a Law Clerk handling Accident Benefits and tort insurance defence files
2. Law Clerk Certification or undergraduate degree
3. Proficiency with the Rules of Civil Procedure and LAT Rules of Practice
4. Ability to manage large volumes of documents in a fast-paced, paperless environment
5. Strong tech skills (Primafact, Ghost Practice, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
6. Ability to manage multiple priorities with time-consciousness and deadlines
7. Proactive attitude and team-oriented mindset
