Job summary

Impala Canada's Lac des Iles Mine (LDI) is seeking a Journeyperson Instrument Mechanic to maintain instrumentation programs onsite. Located about 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay, this mine operates with a strong safety culture and competitive benefits.

You will analyze, inspect and test instruments, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and repair or adjust components. PLC/DCS knowledge and experience with variable speed drives are preferred, and English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written proficiency of the English language.
• Journeyperson Instrument Mechanic qualification required.
• Knowledge of PLC and/or DCS controls.
• Knowledge of variable speed drives.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring all scheduled instrumentation maintenance programs are in effect.
• Analyze, inspect and test instruments to diagnose faults.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, repairing and adjusting systems components and any other assigned tasks.
