The Job You Will Perform:
This position reports to the Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Team Leader in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. The Grande Prairie mill is a 1000+ tonne per day Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp mill. It currently operates with approximately 390 mill employees in a high performance, results oriented environment.
Key Functions
The Instrumentation Technician is responsible to safely assemble, install, and test the measuring and control devices using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and correct the problem. Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
