Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Prince Albert is seeking an Instructor for Practical Nursing to teach in classroom, lab and clinical settings and to contribute to curriculum development. The ideal candidate holds a Baccalaureate in Nursing or related field, active CRNS registration, and at least two years of clinical/teaching experience in medical-surgical nursing; travel will be required.

This is a part-time position based at the Prince Albert campus with opportunities to collaborate with industry

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
  • Minimum of two years clinical/teaching experience in medical-surgical nursing.
  • Current TLR certificate (participant level).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply theory to nursing education and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Teach, coach and supervise nursing students in classroom, lab and clinical settings.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback.
  • Participate in curriculum development, maintenance and revision.
  • Engage in program, campus, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, industry and professional activities.
  • Travel will be required.

3. Minimum of two years recent and relevant clinical/teaching experience in the area of medical-surgical nursing.

8. Ability to apply the theory, practices and principles of medical-surgical and pediatric-obstetrical nursing and adult education.
