Job summary

Nevian Consulting & Placement Services Inc. in the Guelph area is seeking an experienced Sr. Service Technician for a growing security solutions firm.

This full-time, permanent role offers a $40/hour wage based on a 40-hour week, and a 4x10-hour schedule Monday to Thursday with Fridays off. Benefits kick in after 3 months, including 3 weeks of vacation. You’ll install, troubleshoot and program CCTV, access control and alarm systems for residential and commercial clients, with a focus on quality

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an installer or technician.
• Experience with DSC, Kantech, Alarm.com.
• Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50 lbs.
• Valid "G" Ontario driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to take upgrading and new technical courses.

Responsibilities

• Installation and service of commercial and residential security systems, access control, video surveillance, Smarthome solutions, cabling and music distribution.
• Programming of systems both remotely and on-site.
• Network configuration and troubleshooting.
• On-call rotation for emergency after-hours care (approx. one week per 6 weeks).
• Commercial Installation team works 4 x 10-hour days, Monday to Thursday.

Primary Responsibilities

• Installation and service of commercial and residential security systems, access control, video surveillance, telephone entry, Smarthome solutions, cabling and music distribution.
• Programming of systems both remotely and on-site.
• Network configuration and troubleshooting.
• On-call rotation for emergency after-hour care. (Rotation is approximately one week per 6 weeks to have your phone on and respond to customer calls)
• Our Commercial Installation team works 4 x 10-hour days, Monday to Thursday.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an installer or technician.
• Experience with DSC, Kantech, Alarm.com
• Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable on ladders (including extension ladders) and scaffolding.
• Strong communication skills and customer service focus.
• Possess a valid "G" Ontario driver’s license with clean driving record.
• A willingness to take upgrading and new technical courses and learn new advances in the industry and technology as it develops.
  Commercial Installer / Technicians work 4 x 10 Hour days Monday to Thursday.
• Requirement to be included on After-Hour On-Call rotation
