Installation Engineering Design Leader

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. The primary role will be to carry out Signaling Installation and Correlation Design activities related to the Metrolinx Corridors.
You'll be providing Signaling design support activity related to Installation and Engineering changes requested by our customers and inputs received from the Correlation activities. You will be responsible for the upkeep of electrical core data (schematics and wiring). Day-to-day, you’ll work closely within the Signaling Engineering Design team for Alstom.
We’ll look to you for:
- Developing Signaling and TelecommunicationInstallation/Wiring diagramsfor new Signaling system while coordinating with the application engineering teams (Signaling and Telecommunications). This involves updating Signaling/ Fiber schematics, wiring tables. BOMs (Bill of Materials), creatingcable installation routing diagrams, Book of Plans. Single and double line drawings etc.
- Preparingmodificationdesign data, analyze, develop, test and demonstrate Signaling and TelecommunicationEngineering solutions that solve complex issues for wayside Signaling/Telecommunicationinstallation requirements.
- ProvidingSignaling/Telecommunication design cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs.
- Providingtechnical expertise in support of other disciplines.
- Responding promptly to (TQ's) technical queries raised by the customer against design data.
- ClientRequirements' Review with respect to Installation Design Activities
- Workscheduling and forcastig for Installation Designers.
Required
- Knowledge of signaling principles and translation of principles into application logic.
- Engineering and system background.
- Railway transport trainings certification
- Familiar with railway signaling standards (AREMA, EN Standards)
- Working experience with AutoCAD
- Design Team Management.

- The job-holder will need to demonstrate sufficient experience as aDesignengineerof Wayside Signaling Systems.
- The candidate must be fully competent in using AutoCAD, Draft sight and wiring tools to update electrical core data. Therefore, full proficiency in the use of AutoCad & Draft Sight and Excel are key requirements for this role in order to update electrical schematics and wiring data.
- Have exposure to the use of Digital Mock Ups (CAD modelling) of harnesses, Signalingcubicles/equipment, updating or creating new electrical schematics, wiring reports.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of design Standards related to railway waysidedesign.
- An understanding of the optimum and standardization approach to wiring solutions is required to be able to deploy cable routes and materials to achieve optimum installation times.
- Have a sound understanding of electrical engineering principles and be able to understand system functions and interpret circuit diagrams
- Demonstrate design experience ina highly complex and normative environment (Railway signaling and communication, wayside, CBTC, ETCS)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,Electrical and or ElectronicEngineering.
- P.Eng licensed (required)
- May requireto support in the field as needed
