Job description

Job Summary:

The Inspection Crewman in Nisku, Alberta will assist Operators in inspecting and repairing used tubular goods. Responsibilities include pipe handling, cleaning, inspection, and repair of used tubular goods, including drill pipe.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Operators with Wellhead Isolog, Wellchek, and Classifax Sonoscope Isolog units.
  2. Perform Thread and Magnetic Particle Inspection.
  3. Clean and repair pipe threads.
  4. Drift and sort tubulars.
  5. Apply and remove thread compounds.
  6. Remove and replace couplings.
  7. Set up equipment, tear down, and calibrate units.
  8. Perform basic unit maintenance.
  9. Maintain general housekeeping and shop cleanup.
  10. Follow all applicable company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  11. Participate in training programs as required.
  12. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Preferred: Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must disclose a three-year driving history including accidents, violations, or suspensions.

Technical Requirements:

  • Preferred: Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training.

HSE Requirements:

  • Work environment includes shop and yard, with exposure to dust, fumes, gases, and temperature variations.
  • Physical activities include squatting, bending, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 23 kg, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment.
  • Always wear proper protective clothing and perform duties safely.
