Job description

As an Event and Attraction Host, you will work at City of Edmonton attractions and recreation facilities and provide superior customer service and support to patrons. You will ensure bookings and events are well-managed and enjoyable for all in attendance. As a representative of the City of Edmonton, you will be providing front-line service in a professional, calm and diplomatic manner. What you will do:

  • Control and direct admission to various areas of facilities
  • Provide detailed information about facilities and services
  • Facilitate safe, fun and appropriate use of facilities
  • Use standard office equipment, computers and two-way radios
  • Act upon all customer comments and complaints in a prompt, friendly manner
  • Provide minor first aid when needed
  • Perform basic administrative duties including emails, word processing, data entry
  • Related duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 with emphasis on general office practice or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved school or college

Assets:

  • Knowledge and familiarity with CLASS modules (Point of Sale and Program Registration)
  • Ability to converse in a second language
  • Experience working as an event host or a similar role

Conditions of employment:

  • Possession of current Standard First Aid, CPR Level C and AED certifications are required prior to commencement of employment
  • Depending on the location of your employment, you may be required to be 18 years of age and possess your Pro-Serve Certification through the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission
  • Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Hours of Work: 0-30 hours per week

Salary: $21.906 - $27.069 (Hourly)

Salary ranges are in the process of being updated in accordance with the recently ratified collective agreement between the City and CSU 52 and will be forthcoming shortly.
