Job summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Relief Part Time Registered Nurse for the Surgical Services - Inpatient unit at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. The role supports the surgical team and delivers direct patient care in an acute medical unit.

The position requires current BC RN registration. Responsibilities include nursing assessments, care planning, patient education, and collaboration with the interprofessional care team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Ability to assess, plan, provide and evaluate nursing care within an acute medical/surgical unit.
• Experience in inpatient surgical or acute medical care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and collect information to diagnose and plan nursing care.
• Collaborate with patients, families and the interprofessional care team to develop and modify the care plan.
• Coordinate nursing care, delegate tasks, and liaise with the care team per protocol.
• Prepare patients for testing, explain procedures, and monitor comfort during testing.
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses in accordance with Fraser Health standards.
