Job summary

Ciena is seeking an experienced ASIC software engineer to develop and maintain high-quality software across Linux environments. You will build command-line tools and web services supporting ASIC workflows, automate tasks with Bash, and collaborate with global cross-functional teams to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• At least 5 years of experience in ASIC development.
• Proficiency in Java and Python programming and object-oriented design.
• Strong expertise in Linux and bash scripting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software using Java, Rust, Python, and Make on Linux.
• Create and maintain command-line applications and web-based services for ASIC development workflows.
• Write bash scripts to automate tasks and streamline processes.
• Address customer issues, bugs, and feature requests in existing applications and contribute to new applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional ASIC development teams to implement improvements to applications.
