Job summary

Ciena Corporation in Ottawa is seeking an ASIC Methodology and Automation Engineer to develop and maintain software for ASIC workflows using Java, Rust, Python, and Make on Linux. Create command-line applications and web services to support ASIC development workflows, and write Bash scripts to automate tasks.

Collaborate with cross-functional ASIC development teams, use Git and Bitbucket, and contribute to testing frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of ASIC development experience is expected.
• Proficiency in Java and Python with OO design principles.
• Strong Linux, Bash scripting, and CI/CD tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for ASIC workflows on Linux.
• Create command-line apps and web services to support ASIC development.
• Write Bash scripts to automate tasks and streamline automation.
• Address issues, bugs, and feature requests in existing apps.
• Collaborate with ASIC Development teams to implement improvements.
• Work with Git and Bitbucket for source control; develop testing frameworks.
