Job summary

Plastic Staffing in Woodbridge, Ontario is seeking a hands-on Production Team Leader to guide machine operators, maintain safety, and ensure quality and production targets are met on the factory floor.

You will provide daily direction, prioritize labour and materials, monitor workflow, train staff, and support cross-functional problem solving to minimize downtime in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership and ability to engage, motivate and support a diverse production team.
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience in manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes.
  • Ability to train employees on production duties and quality requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, time-management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • English communication skills required.
  • First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily guidance, direction and support to production employees in coordination with Production Supervisors.
  • Help coordinate and prioritize labour, materials and equipment to support production schedules.
  • Monitor production workflow and communicate material shortages, equipment issues or other production concerns.
  • Troubleshoot production issues with other departments to identify root causes, minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
  • Ensure operators are meeting product specifications, tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain production cells so required labels, tools, fixtures, materials and equipment are available and ready for use.
  • Review work instructions, special instructions and engineering changes with employees.
  • Coordinate first-off inspections with Quality to confirm product specifications before production continues.
  • Train new and existing machine operators on job duties, work instructions, quality requirements and standard procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production records including production counts, downtime, scrap and operator logs.
  • Conduct safety checks, identify hazards and support corrective actions.
  • Ensure employees use required PPE and follow established safety procedures.
  • Provide break relief for machine operators and other production roles when required.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts for finished goods and work-in-process inventory.
  • Support supervisors with employee concerns, attendance and performance matters as required.

An established plastics manufacturer in the Woodbridge area is seeking a hands-on Production TeamLeader to support day-to-day production activities, guide machine operators, and help keep safety, qualityand production targets on track.   • Production-floor environment requiring regular interaction with operators, supervisors, Quality and otherdepartments.
  • Overtime may be required based on production needs.
  • Employees are expected to follow all applicable health and safety requirements and use requiredpersonal protective equipment.
