PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn about medications produced by pharmaceutical companies and comply with Health Canada’s regulatory standards and Product Monographs for administration.
- Administer medications (IV, SC, IM) in a specialty Innomar Clinic, Vancouver location.
- Assess and monitor infusion and injection treatments as directed by protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies and procedures, directions from the College of Nurses, and ISO accreditation standards.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and/or product complaints in accordance with Innomar policies & procedures.
- Provide reliable availability, four 10-hour shifts per week. Shifts may be within Monday through Saturday, between 7:30 am and 7 pm, with no statutory holidays or night shifts.
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments to meet timelines.
- Participate in regular team web-based meetings and training sessions with the Manager, Regional Nurse Educator, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional standards.
- Participate in specialized pharmaceutical training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as per your professional associations and Innomar.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Follow all health and safety standards as per the Provincial Health and Safety Act.
- Complete ongoing and annual education training within specified timeframes.
- Learn independently on digital platforms and utilize these tools to meet work requirements.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in IV initiation.
- Current registration with a licensing body; CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA certifications, and experience with central venous lines/ports are assets.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, MS Word, and other applicable computer programs.
- Access to internet connection and knowledge of mobile phones and fax machines.
- Excellent customer service skills for interactions with patients, families, physicians, and clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within a set geographical area to clinics and homecare appointments.
