PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn about medications produced by pharmaceutical companies and comply with Health Canada’s regulatory standards and Product Monographs for administration.
- Administer medications (IV, SC, IM) in a specialty Innomar Clinic, Vancouver location.
- Assess and monitor infusion and injection treatments as directed by protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies, procedures, directions from the College of Nurses, and ISO standards.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints according to Innomar policies & procedures.
- Provide reliable availability: three 8-hour shifts per week, or five 10-hour shifts bi-weekly. Shifts may be within Monday to Saturday, times between 7:30 am and 7 pm. No statutory holidays or night shifts.
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments to meet timelines.
- Participate in team web-based meetings and training sessions with the Manager, Regional Nurse Educator, and Nurse Champion to maintain professional standards.
- Participate in specialized pharmaceutical training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as per your professional associations and Innomar.
- Follow all clinic and nursing standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Follow all Health and Safety standards as per provincial regulations.
- Complete ongoing and annual education within specified timeframes.
- Learn independently using digital platforms to meet work requirements.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Registered Nurse with relevant experience required.
- At least 1 year of IV initiation experience.
- Current registration with licensing body and CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- Assets include ACLS, PALS, MS, CVAA certifications, and central line experience.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other relevant computer programs.
- Access to internet, cell phone for appointments, and fax machine.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills for managing interactions with patients, families, physicians, and clients.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within the set geographical area.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
- Business and financial acumen is an asset.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management, ability to meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and insurance coverage.
The successful candidate may have daily contact with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
