Job summary

Buller District Council is seeking an Information Manager to lead the ongoing implementation and enhancement of its SharePoint-based information systems and ECMS. The role focuses on best-practice information management across the organisation, policy development, and ensuring compliant, customer-focused practices.

The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, collaborate with stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor on information governance across the Council and community.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing and delivering information management services within an organisation.
  • Sound understanding of records and information management legislation (Public Records Act 2005, LGOIMA, privacy obligations).
  • Administrative knowledge of Electronic Content Management Systems (ECMS), EDRMS, or SharePoint environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and business process improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Information Management & Digital Improvement llead to join our Corporate Services team. This newly focused role will champion best-practice information management, support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of our Electronic Content Management System (ECMS), and lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen how we manage information across Council.

Working closely with stakeholders throughout the organisation, you will play a key role in ensuring our information management systems, processes, and practices are efficient, compliant, customer-focused, and future-ready.

Essential:
