Job summary

Wellington County is seeking a dedicated Information Management Co-op Student to support maintenance and testing of the corporate electronic records system, SharePoint Online, and related repositories. You will help with both staff intranet and public websites, under supervision of the Manager of Privacy and Information.

Ideal candidates are enrolled full-time in information management or related programs, with experience publishing content on a website and working knowledge of Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a university or college co-op program full-time in information management or related field.
  • Experience creating, editing, and publishing content on a website platform.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365; SharePoint Online or Drupal considered assets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update public websites and staff intranet using Drupal.
  • Maintain and test SharePoint Online.
  • Assist Data Loss Prevention activities with Microsoft Purview.
  • Research solutions to modernize IM processes and procedures.
  • Review and classify electronic files in SharePoint Online.
  • Process documents for scanning and electronic storage in SharePoint Online.
  • Inventory and organize physical records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Type:Student Co-op; to be eligible for a student position, the applicant must be enrolled in a secondary school, college, or university programme, in a full-time capacity for the winter semester.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week: regular schedule is 8:30 am - 4:00 pm onsite/in-person; flexibility of hours may be required. This student position is available from early January until the end of April.
Work Location:Administration Centre, Guelph; the County of Wellington is an employer that provides service onsite.

BASIC FUNCTION

This position reports to the Manager of Privacy and Information and will support the Information Management (IM) team with the maintenance and testing of the corporate electronic records management system (SharePoint Online), associated record repositories, staff intranet, and public websites.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Manager of Privacy and Information, the Information Management Co-op Student has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining the County’s public websites and staff intranet using Drupal, an open-source content management system (CMS).
  • Assist with maintenance and testing of SharePoint Online.
  • Assist the IM team with Data Loss Prevention activities using Microsoft Purview.
  • Research and recommend solutions to enhance the efficiency and modernization of IM-related processes and procedures.
  • Review and analyze electronic files according to their record classification within SharePoint Online.
  • Process documents for scanning and electronic storage in SharePoint Online.
  • Inventory and organization of physical records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently enrolled in University or College Co-op Programme in a full-time capacity, preferably with a focus in Information Management or related field such as Library and Information Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science and/or Business Administration.
  • Experience creating, editing, and publishing content on a website platform.
  • Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft 365, software applications, and electronic file management.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Drupal, or other open-source CMS, is considered an asset.

Pay Rang e: $28.88 - $37.13 (2026 Student Compensation Grid)
Pension: As a non-full-time (NFT) employee of an OMERS employer, you are eligible to elect to join the OMERS Pension Plan at any time. Enrollment in OMERS is voluntary.
Vacation: Paid out on each pay at the rate of six percent.
Parking: Provided; taxable benefit provisions apply.
