WHISTLER KIDS INC., dba Creekside Kids Rainbow in Whistler, BC seeks an Infant daycare workers supervisor to oversee staff and programs for infants and toddlers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and valid ECE/ITE cert, with 3–5 years of experience, and a focus on safe, developmentally appropriate care.

You will supervise daily activities, assess development, maintain equipment, communicate with parents, plan learning activities, and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required.
3 years to less than 5 years experience in early childhood settings.
Valid ECE certificate/ITE certificate and First Aid & CPR are required.
Satisfactory criminal record check required.

Job Duties

Assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to his needs.
Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
Maintain daycare equipment
Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents
Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
Order supplies and equipment
Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
Knowledge of licensing regulations
Establish guidelines for behaviour
Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants

Requirements

Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certificate / ITE Certificate is required.
Valid First Aid & CPR certificate

Monday to Sunday, 30~40 hours per week (7:45 AM – 5:30 PM on weekdays and 7:45 AM – 5 PM on weekends), with an 6-8-hour workday with 30 mins unpaid lunch break on weekdays and a 15 mins unpaid lunch break on weekends. Must be able to work on weekends.
