Job summary

Elephant Play in Montreal designs and manufactures components, and seeks a CAD designer to convert data sheets into precise 3D models and 2D drawings for customers and production staff. You will prepare subcontracting and purchasing documents and support production with technical questions.

Proficiency in Solidworks is required; knowledge of Rhino or AutoCAD is a plus, along with welding knowledge and CNC file production. English must be functional.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and collaboration with design and production teams.
• Strong creative problem-solving for technical challenges.
• Proficiency in Solidworks required; Rhino/AutoCAD is a plus.
• Knowledge of welded assemblies is beneficial.
• Experience producing CNC cutting files and using Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D designs and 2D drawings from data sheets and drawings for manufacture.
• Prepare subcontracting and purchasing documents (BOM, etc.).
• Support production with design questions and clarification.
• Document and validate production and technical specifications.
• Update drawings and documentation as needed.

Tasks

• From the data sheet and drawings of the design department, make the design (3D) and drawings (2D) for the customer to manufacture and production staff.
• Prepare all necessary documents for subcontracting (laser cutting, folding etc...) and purchasing (Bom etc...)
• Support the production for questions related to design and drawings.
• Document and validate production and technical specifications.
• Update drawings and documentation as needed.
