Job summary

Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper in Thunder Bay, Ontario, is seeking a 2nd Class Power Engineer to join our team and work a four-on, four-off 12-hour shift rotation. The successful candidate will operate and maintain steam systems and support production units, ensuring safe and reliable plant operation.

Candidates must hold a 2nd Class Power Engineer certificate and be legally eligible to work in Canada. Industrial experience is preferred, and the role includes relief duty as Utilities Shift Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Must hold a 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada at time of application.
  • Industrial facility experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all processes and equipment in the steam plant and recovery department.
  • Operate and maintain low and high pressure steam systems.
  • Support production units including turbines, pumps, compressors, cooling towers and gas systems.
  • Perform housekeeping and operational maintenance as assigned.
  • Provide isolation, lockouts, clearances and safe work permits on Utilities systems and equipment.
