Cascades in Winnipeg is seeking a Power Engineer 3rd class to join our maintenance team on a full-time, on-site basis. You will operate and maintain the steam boiler and utility systems, ensuring safety and reliability while supporting production throughput.

You will prepare starch batches, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency. Competitive shift, benefits, and opportunities for overtime are provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid MB 3rd Class Power Engineer certificate.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics and drawings.
• Knowledge of safety program procedures and MB Safety Authority rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain steam boiler and utility equipment per MB Safety Authority regulations.
• Prepare and monitor starch batches for production ensuring quality and supply.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance for safety and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues within the steam plant.
• Monitor readings, maintain logbooks, and report abnormalities.
• Contribute to maintenance procedures and safety protocol development.
• Support plant shutdowns/startups and other maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
