Smurfit Westrock in Guelph is seeking a Licensed Industrial Maintenance Millwright 433A to join the night-shift maintenance team. The role requires providing safe, reliable maintenance for corrugated box production lines and supporting boiler and steam systems.

Qualifications

• Must have Millwright 433A certification and manufacturing experience.
• 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Able to work steady night shift – Monday to Friday.
• Physically capable of lifting and performing maintenance tasks.
• Technical maintenance knowledge across plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot plant equipment and determine maintenance needs.
• Respond to breakdowns and decide on temporary or permanent fixes.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and lubrication schedules.
• Operate boiler systems, heating, steam, and energy supply.
• Assist with minor electrical repairs and equipment installation.

Career Opportunity

The Smurfit Westrock Guelph facility is looking for a Licensed Industrial Maintenance Millwright 433A to work as part of the maintenance team. To be considered for this position, you must be able to work a steady nightshift – Monday to Friday (shifts are subject to change as business needs require). All successful applicants must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal background check and pre-employment medical.

Job Duties

• Troubleshoot problems on plant equipment and facilitate and determine maintenance requirements. Ability to go to root cause of problems. Perform proper follow up on repairs to implement long term solutions.
• Respond to breakdowns on plant equipment, facility, and building. Ability to determine the need for temporary solutions or permanent solutions based on time constraints given by production.
• Maintain preventative maintenance programs and ensures regular checks and lubrication on all equipment.
• Maintain operation of the boiler systems, heating, steam, and energy supply.
• Assist in minor electrical repairs and reset safely.
• Assists with the installation of plant equipment and occasionally assists in equipment design.
• Know what fits are required for various services, including antifriction bearings and be able to make such fits.
• Be able to handle heavy equipment safely and have knowledge of foundation work.
• Assists in the development of the plant occupational health and safety program.
