Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods in Hamilton, Ontario seeks an Industrial Millwright to maintain and service production equipment for safe daily operations. The role offers an hourly rate of $42.11 per hour with shift premium and a path to a full-time permanent position.

You will read blueprints, install and repair processing equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain records. Strong PLC/electrical knowledge and independent work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Millwright (433A) certification.
• Knowledge of conveyors, pumps/compressors, electrical/electronic controls.
• Knowledge of pipe fitting practices and steam piping.
• Vacuum systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics knowledge.
• Strong SAP skill set.
• Ability to work independently and with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematic, and drawings to determine work procedures and order necessary parts. Troubleshoot repairs, install processing and packaging equipment with a working knowledge of electrical, utilities, and facility systems to facilitate efficient repair and replacement.
• Conduct planned preventive and predictive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
• Actively participate in preventive maintenance program for building and processing equipment daily. Efficiently set up, inspect, and shutdown all related equipment when required, including process changeovers. Assist in planning, organizing work activities (drawing interpretation, parts preparation).
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment and power transmission, pump, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

The Industrial Millwright will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility for daily production. They will ensure safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.

Hourly rate: $42.11 per hour.
