Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a qualified Millwright to maintain and service equipment in our Edmonton facility. The role supports safe plant operations, ensures welfare standards, and requires readiness for overnight shifts. Overtime on weekends may be required to meet production needs.

Applicants must hold a Journeyman/Millwright Red Seal, bring their own hand tools, and demonstrate strong troubleshooting and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Ticket or Red Seal Millwright Certification (required).
  • Must have own hand tools (Power tools are provided).
  • Strong knowledge of plant and equipment operations.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Job description

The Opportunity:

As part of Maple Leaf Foods’ Maintenance Team, the individual will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility for the daily production of our products. In doing so, they will support safe plant operations, uphold a safe working environment for all team members, and ensure equipment and processes align with our commitment to animal welfare standards.

Please note that this role operates on a night shift schedule.

Our Millwright rate is $46.81/hour, with an additional premium of $0.70/hour for the night shift.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Poultry or food production experience is considered an asset
  • The successful candidate will be results-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to develop positive working relationships with all employees.
