Job summary

Custom Castings in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a reliable Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to maintain and repair a wide range of casting and manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment.

You will troubleshoot CNC machines, furnaces, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, perform preventative maintenance, and fabricate or modify parts as needed. Red Seal certification is preferred; strong problem-solving and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright certificate or equivalent is an asset.
• Experience in equipment maintenance and repair in industrial/manufacturing settings is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail are assets.
• Standard tool set available and used daily.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair CNC machines, melting furnaces, overhead cranes, hydraulic systems, and casting equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Fabricate parts using MIG/TIG welding; modify or create custom components.
• Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns day or night when required.
• Assist in design and execution of custom jigs, fixtures, safety guards, and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of equipment, including:

• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Fabricate parts using welding techniques (MIG, TIG); modify or create custom components as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections, adjust machinery and document maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly and efficiently day or night, weekday or weekend, when required. (Additional)
• Assist in the design and execution of custom jigs, fixtures, safety guards, and machine upgrades.

What You Bring:

• Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certificate(or equivalent trade certification) is considered an asset.
• Proven experience inequipment maintenance and repairin an industrial or manufacturing setting is considered an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail is considered an asset.
• Standard tool set available.
• Understanding ofhydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting pumps, valves, and cylinders.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 40 lbs of equipment and work in tight or elevated spaces.
