Job summary

Custom Castings, a member of the Nordstern Group of Companies, seeks a proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily facility and equipment operations. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, drive troubleshooting efforts, and ensure timely completion of work orders to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate blends strong mechanical and electrical expertise with leadership skills, and will implement preventive maintenance programs while upholding safety standards across all shifts.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience with leadership exposure.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge; PM scheduling expertise.
• CMMS experience (Limble) is an asset; Red Seal is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule a maintenance team, assign work by priority.
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
• Execute preventive maintenance to maximize reliability.
• Enforce safety procedures (LOTO) and local standards across shifts.
• Track parts usage, coordinate with vendors, and oversee contractors.
• Document failures and metrics in CMMS.

We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Supervisorto oversee daily facility and equipment operations. You will manage a team of maintenance technicians, lead troubleshooting efforts, and ensure work orders are completed efficiently to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Supervise, and schedule a group of highly skilled individuals, assigning work orders based on skill level and priority.
• Operations & Repair: Lead hands-on troubleshooting and repair of machinery, production equipment, overhead cranes, melting furnaces, CNC machines, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Execute and optimize the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule to maximize equipment reliability.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce safe work procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and local safety standards across all shift operations.
• Inventory & Vendor Coordination: Track spare parts usage, order replacement inventory, and supervise third-party contractors when needed.
• Downtime Reporting: Document equipment failures, root-cause analyses, and shift metrics in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

What You Bring:

• Experience: 3-5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is considered an asset.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V preferred), hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC basic diagnostics.
• Certifications: High school diploma or GED required; Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certificate (or equivalent trade certification) is considered an asset.
• Software: Experience using a CMMS (e.g.Limble) for work order and inventory tracking is considered an asset
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varied climate conditions.
