Job summary

Custom Castings, a member of the Nordstern Group of Companies, is seeking a reliable Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to join our fast-paced manufacturing site. The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance, and custom fabrication to keep CNCs, furnaces, cranes, and casting equipment running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a Red Seal Millwright or equivalent, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a hands-on production setting.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright certificate or equivalent is assets.
• Experience in equipment maintenance in industrial/manufacturing settings is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are assets.
• Standard tool set is available to the candidate.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems including pumps, valves, and cylinders.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment including CNC machines, furnaces, cranes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, casting machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Fabricate parts using MIG and TIG welding; modify or create custom components as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections, adjust machinery and document maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of equipment, including:
  • CNC machines
  • Melting furnaces
  • Overhead cranes
  • Hydraulic systems and pneumatic tools
  • Casting machinery and auxiliary equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Fabricate parts using welding techniques (MIG, TIG); modify or create custom components as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections, adjust machinery and document maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly and efficiently - day or night, weekday or weekend, when required. (Additional)
• Assist in the design and execution of custom jigs, fixtures, safety guards, and machine upgrades.

What You Bring:

• Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certificate(or equivalent trade certification) is considered an asset.
• Proven experience inequipment maintenance and repairin an industrial or manufacturing setting is considered an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail is considered an asset.
• Standard tool set available.
• Understandingof hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting pumps, valves, and cylinders.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 40 lbs of equipment and work in tight or elevated spaces.
